Frequently asked questions
Anything not covered here? Send Seb a message and you'll get a proper answer.
- How do sessions actually run?
- Everything is online. Once your booking is confirmed you'll receive a Google Meet link 5-10 minutes before the session. All you need is a laptop or tablet with a camera and mic, and something to write with. Sessions are one-to-one and interactive: expect to be getting head first into problems, not just listening to me teach.
- What's the cancellation policy?
- Cancel or rearrange with a 24 hour notice or more and there's no charge at all. Cancellations with less than 24 hours' notice are charged at 50% of the session fee, since that slot usually can't be refilled at short notice. All deadlines are based on UK time (Europe/London GMT).
- Which exam boards do you cover?
- It depends on the subject. You'll pick your board as part of booking so all options will be displayed then, and sessions will use past papers and mark schemes from that specific board - exam technique differs more between boards than people expect. If you're on a board that isn't listed, choose "Other" and Seb will work to your specification.
- How do I pay?
- Nothing is charged through the website. At the last step of booking you pick how you'd like to pay - bank transfer, PayPal, card, or you can say you're not sure and Seb emails you to arrange it, usually within a day. If you choose bank transfer (UK only), his account details and your payment reference are shown straight away and sent in your confirmation email so you can pay immediately if you'd rather. Your slot is held from the moment you book.
- How far ahead can I book?
- Slots are released 1-2 weeks in advance due to Seb's busy academic calendar. All times are shown in UK time (Europe/London GMT). If you'd like the same slot every week, message Seb and he'll set that up with you directly - recurring bookings are arranged by email rather than through the booking form.
- What levels and subjects do you teach?
- Maths, Further Maths and Computer Science at GCSE and A-level, and Physics at GCSE and AS-level (Year 1 of A-level). Further Maths at GCSE means the AQA Level 2 Certificate. Staying within these subjects and levels is deliberate - it means every session is taught from real, recent, top-grade experience of the exact course you're sitting.
